I am currently training for the City of Oaks Marathon here in Raleigh. I’ve been training for a couple of months now, and yesterday I ran 18 miles. This is a PR for me. This was my route, and my time was 2:31:45, that comes out to 8:25 min per mile. I’m really happy with my time because I didn’t think I could run that fast for that long.
That’s awesome Andrew!!! And such a good time, I’m jealous 🙂 I’m hoping to do a half marathon next year…don’t know if I can do 8 minute miles though. Haha, nice job, 18 miles is no joke.
Thanks Brittany, and that’s awesome about the half-marathon. Which one were you thinking of doing? And it was great to hear from you!

Well, last year I did the 26.2 with Donna marathon…but the training was really demanding as far as how much time it took up, so I thought I’d try the half this coming February instead of repeating the marathon. I also want try some more speed work as opposed long marathon pace runs…so I’m thinking the half would be a great challenge: it’s still a long distance run, but would allow for a faster pace than with the marathon.
Awesome job! I’m doing my second 1/2 marathon in 2 weeks so I understand all the training you’re doing.
Cool! Yeah, I’m enjoying the training (running farther than I’ve ever run, etc.), but I’ll also be happy to get back to my normal running schedule (at least until my next marathon). And it was good hearing from you,
